Pride, Prejudice and Zombies

I received it as a gift for my birthday and put it on the stack of books next to the bed. I didn’t read it. It sat there. I was worried about reading it. I didn’t want it to be so scary that I wouldn’t be able to sleep.

Joanne called me and said that she had listened to some of it on the radio and it was really funny. So I decided that I could brave it.

I finished it last night. It was really funny and amazingly well done. The transitions from the original story to the zombie bits and back again are pretty seamless. It took me a few chapters to get used to the style of language but as I finished it I had to remind myself to not use that language in conversation. Silly.

There are zombies, ninjas, affairs and courtships. What’s not to love? Oh, and ball jokes. Even if I had not known that the additional author was male before reading the book I would have had no doubt a few chapters in. Not only that, but I was pretty sure that the male author was a relatively young man as well. Turns out he’s 33. Yep, just the right age for ball jokes. (Bill may disagree with that because I am actually pretty sure that he is not above that when in the appropriate company and he is not 33 but I am sticking to my story.)

So anyways, read it.

  1. You are aware of Bill’s motto, aren’t you? Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
