Ok, my birthday
Jun 18, 09:37 AM
Yep. I had a birthday Friday. Now I am officially 36. But that means that I will tell my students for the second year in a row that I am 36 because for some reason I was caught up with being 36 last year too. Maybe I’ll be 36 next year as well.
I had a great day. Chris took the day off and we rambled around town and lazed around the house. It was a game night so the game went on but not until we had a great dinner of shish kabobs, green salad, potato salad and a great German chocolate cake that Chris made. (I discovered that I don’t like making shish kabobs and would much rather just cook all of the parts in a great big heap instead of taking the time to put them on a stick to cook only to have everyone take the bits back off of the stick.)
The loot was spectacular:
- Homemade, Chocolate, Yogurt muffins (yum!)
- A necklace from Etsy with the silhouette of trees in front of the blue sky that you see just as the sun sets
- A Panera gift card
- A dead, female rhinoceros beetle (it has a little horn)
- A stirling silver pendant of a tree from James Avery (part of that purchase went to a conservatory)
- The skeleton of a North American Toad
- Of Pride, Prejudice and Zombies
- A Gyro wheel
- A sparkly magic wand with kaleidoscopes twirling inside
- A mini pirate kite
- An eco-tote
As you can see I made out like a bandit.
Thank you, thank you.

OMG I love the frog skeleton – I LOVE the frog skeleton. That’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
(I’m not proud I have been slow in sending your gifts, but glad they won’t be lost in what seems like a pinata’s worth of loot)
And did I mention how cool the frog skeleton is?

I was wonderfully spoiled. There is something really cool about getting things in the mail no matter when they arrive.
The skeleton is awesome.
